Advanced computer networks & Computer networks II
The course contains of a theoretical, a practical part, and an in-depth part.
Theoretical part of the course centers mainly around wirebound communication and covers the main part of the internet protocol suit and methods for analysis of computer communication. Topics might change slightly from one year to another to meet the ongoing trends within the area. The following topics are, however, always included; protocol design, network programming, mathematical modelling, network simulation, measurement methods and future architectures.
Other topics might include, but is not limited to delay-tolerant networks, anonymity in the Internet, quality of Service, Internet of Things, software defined networking, cloud services and social networks. Much of this is covered in the in-depth part.
Practical part consists of labs covering network programming as well as simulation or modeling of computer networks.
Responsible for the course in 2014/2015 will be Martin Jacobsson.
