Measuring a downhill bike

See pdf-file for the idea.

The project

The goal of the project is to be able to follow the performance of a downhill bike during a practice run. The data should be presented online, live while the rider is doing the run. Sensors will measure the activity on the bike. The data is sent through a mobile phone on the bike to a web server. The mechanic can follow the performance of the bike live on a laptop. The data transfer is done over a 3G connection.

This project will involve programming on several hardware platforms: Sensor nodes, Android phones, and standard computer. The implementation requires several skills and implementation steps. The first step is to agree on data format and the interface between layers/nodes. When a data format has been decided the work can be divided into smaller tasks.

The team

There could be two teams of three members that collaborate and share a bike or one team of 4 members.
