Introduction to Human-Computer Interaction, 5p

This is the English version of the course for exchange students

It seems to be quite some confusion about the assignments in this course. Please read and understand this web page carefully.
To conclude:

  • Read the lectures from the net-version of this course. This is actually another course, you are just to read the lectures here, NOT to do the assignments described there.
  • Do the assignments described here, on this course web - the one you are reading right now. They are described further down on this page.

According to the schedule, there will be a introduction to the group assignment. Be there, and make sure you have read about the group assignment.

The course generally consists of the following parts:

  • Lectures
  • Group assignment
    • Written report
    • Oral presentation
  • Supplement assignment
  • Home exam

Lectures

Corresponding lectures in English are given on the "net-version" of the course, given last semester. English speaking exchange students are to follow these lectures (just the lectures, nothing else on that web site). Please note that just reading these lectures is not enough. References to the course literature in each lecture are also very important to take part of!

Group assignment

All lectures should be taken before the practical work with the group assignment begins. Although, preparing work should be initiated as soon as possible.
More about the group assignment here.

Supplement assignment

You will also need to write a report on the theme "Moral computers: An oxymoron or a panacea?"
The report shall be written individually and it must contain at least 2 000 words.
For this you need to study a compendium that you can buy from UTH-gården but you may also use other relevant sources.
Use your own ideas. Do not recapitulate the compendium!
The report must be delivered to Iordanis on printed paper not later than 16 March 2006.
For more information please contact Iordanis Kavathatzopoulos.

Home exam

The home exam is written during two days, 15-17 of March. It begins at 09.00 on Wednesday 15:th and should be submitted by email (as doc) to no later than 24.00 on Thursday the 17:th.
The answers shall be written individually, but means of assistance as the course literature and such are allowed. You are allowed to cooperate, but all answers in the exam are to be made individually. These are generous rules that also raise the standards and entail a great responsibility. No similar answers or any piece of plagiarism will be accepted.
The exam consists of 8 questions and all questions must be approved to pass the exam. Full score on the questions requires complete, detailed and well motivated answers. Each answer requires at least 300 words.
