Lab instructions

Process Lab (Mandatory)

NEW: The list of when each student does the proceslab is now finished. Also note that the lab occation February 17 has been canceled.

To pass the course a processlab (identification of a fan process) have to be done. There are several scheduled lab occasions but only one occasion for each student. As soon as a list of students taking the course is available, a list will be published telling when which student does the processlab (keep track of the NEWS on the frontpage of the course homepage!!!). If a student for some reason cannot do the lab at the occasion he/she has been scheduled for, it is up to the student to find another student willing to switch lab occasion with him/her and notify the teaching assistants that the students are willing to switch.

Important!!! It is VERY important that the student has done the preparation exercises and studied the labinstructions in advance. The student will not be given access to the lab until these exercises have been done.

For completing the Computer labs you will need access to Matlab and its System Identification Toolbox.

The software is available in our PC lab (room 2315). To have access to the computers in the PC lab, a student account at UpUnet-S is required. You will need your UpUnet-S user name and the C password in order to login. Information about how to get a UpUnet-S account can be found here. When solving the homework assignments you may need to use Matlab and the System Identification Toolbox. You can of course use this software in the PClab. Another alternative is to run the software over the web. In that case you will need to use your UpUnet-S identity. How to get media and access to the license is described here.

Homeworks

Homework problems will be given during the course. They will be five in total and will give a bonus of up to 2 points each on the exam, provided that their solutions are satisfactory and handed in before the deadlines (listed below). The homework problems can be downloaded here:
