In this action-oriented project we have followed female students in their first year of study. The aim of the project has been to better understand the situation and the needs of the female students. Through a dialogue with these students we have gained knowledge and insight into what factors are of importance in order to strengthen the position of female students at the programme, some actions based on this knowledge were taken. By following a number of individuals we have beene to give a picture of the difficulties that female students meet. Experiences from this project has made it possible for us to recommend actions to take for programmes with few female students, especially within Computer Science. The project has been evaluated using questionnaires and interviews.
