Students in the Master's Programme in Information Technology were equipped with individual personal computers. The effects on students learning of Computerence, willingness to collaborate, and to use the computer as a tool for dealing with large amounts of information has been evaluated. It is clear that the computers have been profitable for the students' learning of computer science and their interest cooperate, while the effects on handling large amounts of information is limited.
