197 1997 Krister Åhlander krister@tdb.uu.se An Extendable PDE Solver Framework Abstract Come is a software project focusing on object-oriented solutions for implementing a framework for solving systems of partial differential equations (PDEs) numerically. The scope is coupled multi-dimensional equations, with high demands on the expressiveness and flexibility as well as on the efficiency of the implementation. It is demonstrated how a program solving the incompressible Navier--Stokes equations was composed in a plug-and-play manner within the framework. The framework encompasses explicit and implicit time stepping methods. A coherent approach for boundary conditions and initial conditions is presented. The use of object-oriented methodologies is stressed, and it is noted that not only the object model, but also tools from the dynamic model---such as scenario diagrams---have provided significant contributions.
